Village begins fall bagged leaf collection

Amityville's Department of Public Works begins its fall leaf-bag collection October 26, continuing through November 27. Put bags curbside by 7 a.m. on the assigned day: Monday north of Merrick Road and west of Broadway; Tuesday north of Merrick and east of Broadway; Thursday south of Merrick and east of Amityville Creek; and Friday south of Merrick and west of the creek. The village will collect unlimited leaf bags in addition to regular garbage-contractor pickups. Leaves must not be deposited in village streets.
