Civic meeting collects Thanksgiving food donations

The Bohemia Civic Association will collect nonperishable Thanksgiving food at its November 16 meeting for local families. Requested items include stuffing mix, instant mashed potatoes, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce and canned cream soups. The association is working with the Knights of Columbus Sunrise Council 6607, Bohemia Historical Society and Connetquot Cares Coalition. Donations go to St. John's Church for Thanksgiving meals. Residents can also donate directly during regular business hours at the church's rear entrance, 1150 Locust Avenue in Bohemia.
