Hazardous Waste Dropoff Returns August 8

The Town of Oyster Bay will hold its S.T.O.P. hazardous-material dropoff on Saturday, August 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Old Bethpage Solid Waste Disposal Complex, 101 Bethpage-Sweet Hollow Road. The program accepts items including automobile batteries and tires, gasoline, pesticides, paint, propane tanks, fluorescent bulbs, smoke detectors, solvents, waste oil, antifreeze, and other listed household hazardous materials. The service is for residents within the Town's Solid Waste Disposal District, and proof of residency is required. Residents should check the town's accepted-items list before arriving.
