Free Health Insurance Help Available

Harborfields Public Library will host a walk-in health insurance assistance session from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, at 31 Broadway in Greenlawn. Certified assistor counselors can help residents apply for Medicaid programs and other public health insurance, address commercial insurance questions, seek charity care, and prepare for a transition from Medicaid to Medicare. The service is provided through the Nassau Suffolk Hospital Council with New York State Department of Health grant funding. Residents may bring household income, policy, employment, Social Security, and birth-date information if relevant.
