Library Hosts Bay Houses Lecture

Commack Public Library will present A World Within a World: The Bay Houses of Long Island on October 5 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The lecture will examine the remaining bay houses built on Long Island marshlands, including structures in the towns of Islip and Hempstead. The library's listing says 42 bay houses remain and that the buildings were originally constructed in the 19th century. Registration is required for this adult program, which will be held in the Community Room at 18 Hauppauge Road.
