Freeport Library Offers Boating Course

Freeport Memorial Library will host an eight-hour New York State safe boating course on Saturday, October 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Registration is required at the library's ASK Desk. The course is open to participants at least 10 years old; children younger than 13 must attend with a parent. The materials fee is $40, payable by check or money order, and participants ages 18 and older must pay a separate $10 state fee after completing the course. Boaters age 17 and younger are exempt from that state fee.
