District Schools Close For Indigenous Peoples Day

Brentwood Union Free School District calendars list Monday, October 12, as Indigenous Peoples' Day and a district holiday and closing. Families should plan for no regular school instruction that day and make any needed arrangements for child care, transportation, meals, or activities. The date appears on the district's October 2026 calendars, including school-level calendars that also list district events and Board of Education meetings. Residents should watch the district for any later schedule notices affecting individual programs or facilities.
